Louisiana State University Athletics and Woodside Energy collaborate in

first-of-its-kind collegiate partnership

NEW YORK, NY (February 16, 2026) Playfly Sports, the sports industry’s leading revenue maximization company, today announced that it has facilitated the first-ever collegiate jersey patch sponsorship agreement between Louisiana State University (LSU) Athletics and Woodside Energy, a global energy company.

As the Official Legacy Partner of LSU Athletics, Woodside Energy’s logo will appear across all 21 varsity competition uniforms beginning in the 2026–2027 athletic season. The jersey patches will be custom-designed to complement LSU’s iconic purple and gold. The multi-year deal, created in collaboration with Playfly Sports, includes marketing and brand assets that span in-stadium activation opportunities, digital and social, and TV-visible signage.

The partnership includes a dedicated investment in community‑focused programming designed to deliver meaningful and lasting impact across Louisiana. As an Official Community Partner of LSU Athletics, Woodside will collaborate with the university to develop initiatives that address local needs and strengthen communities throughout the state.

“We’re excited to partner with LSU in this historic initiative that reflects our long-term commitment to Louisiana,” said Daniel Kalms, Woodside’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer International. “This collaboration goes beyond the playing field - it supports student-athletes and the Louisiana community, and builds a meaningful legacy in the state.”

“In this new era of NIL, we’re thrilled to have a partner in Playfly that is constantly innovative and quick to respond when new opportunities arise,” said Verge Ausberry, Vice President and Athletic Director at LSU. “Playfly has played an integral role, especially via their Playfly Max platform, in weaving Woodside into the fabric of our athletic department and helping us further engage with our local community.”

“This deal between LSU and Woodside will set a new standard for jersey patch sponsorship agreements in collegiate athletics, and we’re proud to be the first to reach this milestone,” said Christy Hedgpeth, President, Playfly Sports Properties. “As the NIL landscape continues to shift in a post-House world, we’re proud to be at the forefront of pioneering first-of-their-kind agreements to unlock new sources of revenue for our partners.”
